After the revelations of the last few weeks of Gotham (FOX, Mondays, 8/7C), it’s time the series moved to the next level. Theo Galavan and his beloved sister Tabitha have discovered Penguin’s ruse; Edward Nygma has (accidentally) ruined what might be his one shot at love; Alfred has made it clear that he wants Selina to stay away from Bruce.
Rise of the Villains: Mommy’s Little Monster takes all the coagulating emotions from the recent past and forms them into an hour that is, to say the least, explosive.
Robin Lord Taylor is invariably one of the nicest, most genuine people to interview in all of show business – he always seems thrilled that people want to talk to him about his job.
On Friday, he spoke with a group of bloggers/journalists about season two of Gotham (FOX, Mondays, 8/7C) and confirmed once again that he loves what he’s doing.
Taylor was happy to talk about the Penguin’s progress – rising from, essentially, the gutter to become (even if it’s self-proclaimed) the King of Gotham. He touched on the darker nature of the new season; the Penguin/Nygma relationship (yes, it’s coming!); Mrs. Cobblepot’s dawning awareness of her son’s business, and a great deal more. When Gotham (FOX, Mondays, 9/8C) went on its winter hiatus, things were looking grim – Alfred in hospital; the possibility of a hit put out on Bruce Wayne, Barbara seeing Jim Gordon kissing Dr. Leslie Thompkins…
Now FOX has released a teaser for the remainder of Gotham’s debut season and, no surprise, things are looking grimmer than ever. Check it out after the jump.
The cat’s out of the bag so to speak and The Penguin has made his triumphant return to Gotham! Robin Lord Taylor’s Penguin is alive and well but has changed sides in the war to rule Gotham. Jumping ship from being Fish Mooney’s pet to joing Maroni’s crew as his right hand man is stirring things up. But that’s not all! Penguin is really a double agent working for Falcone. Something tells me the Penguin isn’t finished with his double crossing ways.
I had a chance to speak with Robin Taylor about his take on the iconic character and what’s in store for “Gotham” this season. Full interview after the jump. “Gotham” airs Mondays 8/7c on FOX.
FOX has ordered the final six episodes to give its new hit series Gotham a full season.
The story of Gotham between the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne and the advent of The Batman stars Ben McKenzie as rookie police detective James Gordon – possibly the last good cop in the corrupt Gotham Police Department, David Mazouz as the young Bruce Wayne and Donal Logue as Gordon’s potentially salvageable partner, Harvey Bullock.
Gotham was created by Bruno Heller. Follow the jump for more. The next new episode of Gotham airs tonight at 8/7C.
Gotham (FOX, Mondays, 8/7C) was the most anticipated new show of the fall season – and the backstories of some of Batman’s most iconic foes was part of the reason for that.
One of the Dark Knight’s most iconic foes is The Penguin – Oswald Cobblepot, played in his embryonic state by Robin Lord Taylor – and the series has a genuinely unique on the future criminal mastermind. On Friday, Taylor spoke with a group of bloggers/journalists about the role – getting it; his sources of inspiration, what it’s like to work with some of his amazing co-stars.
