Anything can happen at Comic-Con and frequently does. Case in point: Sir Ridley Scott is in production on a film in Australia but still managed to introduce the first full-length trailer for season two of The Man in the High Castle.
Mark Damon stars as astronaut Mark Watney in Ridley Scott’s adaptation of The Martian by Andy Weir. During the Ares Mission to Mars, a storm forces the crew to abort the mission and, believing Watney to be dead, leave without them.
With scant supplies, Watney has to figure out a way to contact mission control and then survive until help can arrive.
The Martian will be in theaters on October 2nd. Meet the crew of the Ares Mission following the jump – then check out the first full-length trailer!
Arthur C. Clarke’s novel 3001: The Final Odyssey is being adapted as a TV miniseries for Syfy by Ridley Scott and his Scott Free Productions company.
Per the Syfy press release, 3001 is “an epic story of a man lost in time. Arthur C. Clarke’s final Odyssey book resolves the tale that was begun in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Beginning with the discovery of Frank Poole’s frozen body, floating in space, 3001: The Final Odyssey offers an extraordinary range of complex characters with conflicting agendas, stunning visuals and dark, thematic meditations on the final fate of all Humankind.’
No premiere date has, as yet, been announced. For further details, follow the jump.
Ridley Scott’s Alien and Kingdom of Heaven are coming to Blu-Ray on October 7th.
Alien will get a special 35th Anniversary package with new extras – including a reprint of the original ALIEN comic book and
collectible art cards in memory of the late H.R. Giger – while Kingdom of Heaven Ultimate Edition will collect all three cuts of the film for the first time.
Ridley Scott’s The Counselor – screenplay by Cormac McCarthy – stars Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz. It opens on October 25th. Check out the first trailer after the jump.
