On Tuesday, January 12th, ABC Family becomes Freeform – a name that “speaks to the network’s ongoing priority to super-serve Becomers, fans on that epic adventure of becoming an adult, a life stage that spans people who are ages 14-34.’
To celebrate the rebranding, Freeform will transition with a daylong virtual event that will include ‘a Social DNA Project with Twitter; a live stream of events via Periscope; a Vine booth; a BuzzFeed Facebook Live chat and a custom Pretty Little Liars Facebook icon; Instagram content and talent takeovers; and a “Pretty Little Liars” Snapchat filter.’ And that’s just skimming the surface!
The day will culminate in the series premiere of the sixth season premiere of Pretty Little Liars (8/7C) and the series premiere of Shadowhunters (9/8C). Follow the jump for much, much more.
If there’s a group of women who rock an LBD better than the Pretty Little Liars, I’m not sure who that would be. They even rock ’em in a cemetery (not unusual for them), though this time there’s a new accessory.
Check out the new poster for season 6B following the jump. Pretty Little Liars opens the first night of programming for the rebranded Freeform on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 (8/7C).

Heading into its sixth season, Pretty Little Liars (ABC Family, Tuesdays, 8/7C) has finally revealed the real ‘A’ – or has it? PLL’S Allison, Sasha Pieterse took some time from shooting the eighth episode of the new season to dish the dirt on the weird/crazy/genius Charles; shed some light on the Alison/Mona dynamic; reveal what she finds most disturbing about the new season, and tease Ali’s new love interest – among other things. ABC Family’s 13 Nights of Halloween begin Sunday, October 19th and conclude on Friday, October 31st.
America’s teens cast 164 million votes for this Teen Choice 2014 – which may have been the second biggest surprise of the evening (The Other Woman for Teen Choice Comedy Movie? Really?), or maybe third biggest (Choice Movie Villain Donald Sutherland, above, bearing gifts from Panem!). Most of the rest of the evening was pretty much expected: Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries dominated the TV awards; Divergent, The Fault In Our Stars and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire dominated movies.
Also as usual, the Teen Choice Award show was less boring than most other award shows – except for the one with the Green Slime – and crammed in more awards than any two other awards shows. For a complete list of winners, follow the jump.
