DreamWorks’ Fright Night remake, starring Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin gets its first trailer – and it’s a good one. The new Cars 2 trailer looks much better than the first three, suggesting that Pixar’s undefeated streak [eleven films; eleven hits] might well continue.

"BRAVE"

HIGHLAND OF THE “BRAVE” -- The rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland serve as the backdrop for “Brave,” a new tale that joins the land’s ancient lore—stories of epic battles and mystical legends passed down for generations. Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, “Brave” is the grand adventure of Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald), a skilled archer who confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts to discover the true meaning of courage. The film also features the voices of Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Julie Walters, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson and Robbie Coltrane. “Brave,” full of heart, memorable characters and Pixar’s signature humor, takes aim at theaters on June 22, 2012, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.

When Disney/Pixar sends you concept art from an upcoming film, you pretty much have to take a good look at it. When it comes from a story that takes place in a Celtic region – like the Scottish Highlands, here – and it looks as cool as this, well, you’ve just got to share.

Check out three more images – and the accompanying press release – after the jump.

The folks at Disney/Pixar have released looks at some new characters from Cars 2.

Grem (voice of Joe Mantegna)

Grem is a dented, rusty orange AMC Gremlin. After years of being dismissed for his design, even being called a “lemon,” Grem has a big chip on his fender that has led him to the underworld of international espionage. As a henchman for a villainous boss Professor Z, Grem and his partner-in-crime Acer are trying to sabotage the World Grand Prix and the famous race cars competing in it. When Grem and Acer mistake Mater for an American agent with important top-secret information, the ruthless lemons set out on a round-the-globe chase to stop Mater from foiling their evil scheme.

Every time I review a Pixar movie, I feel like I have to start by saying, I’m not a fan of their movies. While all their films are technically brilliant I just found them to be too glossy to connect to.  Toy Story 3 isn’t a great movie, I think it’s a notch below How to Train Your Dragon, but it’s the rare sequel that easily surpasses the original and rarer still a concluding chapter that wraps everything up in a perfect manner. The movie takes you on an emotional roller coaster and come on it had an evil Bear! An Evil Bear! Would have been great if his name was “Huggy.” I didn’t leave the theater feeling like I wanted more, or disappointed, I left satisfied.

TOY STORY 3

Toy Story 3 is that most unusual of films: a second sequel that matches – or betters – its predecessors. The setting, as with Toy Stories 1 & 2, is the present – which means that Andy [John Morris] is about to head off to college. For Woody [Tom Hanks], Buzz [Time Allen] and the rest of his toys, this is a time for panic. Will they be thrown away? Stored in the attic? Donated to someone else?
