The odd couple of superheroes of Bild City, Tiger & Bunny have their offscreen lives revealed in VIZ Media’s new manga series Tiger & Bunny Comic Anthology 2-in-1. Eighteen of Japan’s top self-published manga artists take a look at what the superheroes do in their private lives – how they stay in shape; what Saito is saying under his breath; the conundrum of being superheroes invited to a Halloween party! The collection of humorous shorts is the first of a 2-volume homage to the Tiger & Bunny manga/anime series.
Also new this month is Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, a reimagining of the classic tales One Thousand and One Nights (aka The Arabian Nights). Deep in the desert are the Dungeons, a mysterious and dangerous place where many have vanished seeking to find and plunder its hidden troves of treasure. Plucky young Aladdin aims to succeed where so many before him have failed and he just might do it – there’s more to him than meets the eye…

Kodansha has announces the return of CLAMP’s XXXholic in a new series, XXXholic: Rei, to debut in late 2013, and as a series of 3-in-1 omnibus volumes beginning in March 2014 Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles Omnibus (above right) will collect the series in 3-in-1 volumes beginning in August, 2014.
The company also announces three new series: My Little Monster, Say I Love You and Monster Soul (Above left) – to be released over March, April and May of 2014.

VIZ Media has just begun making its digital library of manga titles available for KOBO eReaders, with 500 volumes debuting today – and a library of 1500 volumes across 130 titles coming to North America in the near future.
The launch list includes the latest volumes of blockbusters like Naruto (rated ‘T’ for Teens), Bleach (rated ‘T’ for Teens), Blue Exorcist (rated ‘T+’ for Older Teens), One Piece (rated ‘T’ for Teens) and Vampire Knight (rated ‘T+’ for Older Teens). VIZ Media has also synchronized its digital publishing schedule for future manga titles to have near-simultaneous domestic release of their print counterparts, closing the gap between print and digital manga formats. The 5th Annual J-Pop Summit Festival will celebrate Japanese, pop culture with Sake tasting, a J-Pop Idol contest, and performances by such artists as: fashion icon/singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (pictured); four-piece girl rock band LoVendoR; and legendary artist Katsuya Terada, who will create a freehand drawing on a blank wall at San Francisco’s Kinokuniya Bookstore.
The festival, which runs July 27th and 28th, will include other special attractions including anime film premieres of Evangelion 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, and Naruto The Movie: The Lost Tower – and much, much more. Follow the jump to learn more.

Bleach, one of the most popular manga and anime´ series in the world is going Hollywood. VIZ Media today announced that Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired the live-action feature film rights to the series.
Peter Segal (Get Smart, The Longest Yard) of Callahan Filmworks is producing with an eye toward directing. The film’s creative team also includes screenwriter Dan Mazeau, who recently penned Warner Bros.’ upcoming sequel to Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans.
