Krypton is the best thing SyFy has done in years. Yes, even better than the Expanse. This is high praise coming from someone who generally claims not to like sequels, while not so secretly I do. Krypton, the 10 episode Maxi series, debuts on SyFy channel this week, Wednesday, March 21, 2018. There’s something about this show that sucked me in almost instantly.
I’ve just seen the pilot for Krypton (premiering on Syfy on Wednesday, March 21st at 10/9C). It’s pretty good – filled with potential, in fact.
Just a quick teaser for you…
For a 20-second Comic-Con 2017 teaser for Syfy’s Krypton – not even premiering until 2018 – there’s a fair bit of information in there.
Krypton comes from David S. Goyer and stars Cameron Cuffe as Superman’s grandfather, Seyg-El.
Syfy is bringing the Fandemonium to San Diego for Comic-Con 2017 – 15 panels and screenings including: a Battlestar Galactica Reunion; debates – which is better: Star Trek or Star Wars; did Greedo shoot first; panels for new shows Krypton and Happy!, and screenings of a new ep of Blood Drive and the first ep of Channel Zero: No-End House.
Syfy Fan Parties; Superfan nuptials (Orlando Jones makes fans’ dreams come true, as he presides over pop-up nuptials at TBD locations throughout the weekend); Zachary Levi’s annual invitation-only Friday night party!
San Diego Comic-Con 2017 takes place at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, during the weekend of July 19 – July 23.
Syfy has greenlit David S. Goyer’s Superman prequel Krypton and Christopher Meloni vehicle Happy! to series – and is developing George R.R. Martin’s science fiction novella Nightflyers.
Krypton sees Kal-el’s grandfather, Seyg-El (Cameron Cuffe) working to restore his family’s honor after it was ostracized.
Happy! follows corrupt alcoholic cop turned hitman Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni) as a job goes horribly wrong and he is joined by ‘a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named Happy’ – that only he can see.
Syfy has ordered Superman prequel Krypton to pilot. The pilot, which is set two generations prior to the planet’s destruction, follow’s Superman’s grandfather as he attempts to redeem his family’s honor and save the planet after the House of El had been shamed and ostracized.
The pilot and story are written by David S. Goyer & Ian Goldberg and directed by Damian Kindler. For more, follow the jump.
WTF? Holy crap! Syfy and Warner Brothers are teaming up to bring us a brand new television show about…..KRYPTON! Yes the place that gave us Superman. This will be either incredibly cool or a disaster of epic proportion, either way it should be great television. I mean we don’t know much about Krypton, so they’ll have a lot of leeway in f’ing with Superman’s history. Jor-El better be a dick in this. I’m sure somehow Zod will be the hero of the show for at least the first few seasons. I bet SyFy Presy Dave is walking around the offices with his pimp stick this week.
