Even when Orphan Black (BBC America, Thursdays, 10/9C) lightens up on the mythology to go for seemingly straightforward character stuff, it’s still twisted and complex.

The Antisocialism of Sex is one such episode as Sarah seeks to drown her guilt in sex and drugs and booze; Cosima attempts a bit of crazy science; Alison tries to give her daughter Gemma a great birthday slumber party, and Rachel is freed from her cozy prison.

Season 3 Cast

Orphan Black (BBC America, Saturdays, 9/8C) is pulling strands together in unexpected ways in season three’s eighth episode, Ruthless In Purpose, and Insidious In Method. Essentially, everyone plays everyone else this week, but though there’s nothing new about that the results are illuminating.

Orphan Black – A Whole ‘Nother Level of Complexity!

orphan-black-s3 - Sarah & Scarface

The first two seasons of Orphan Black (BBC America, Saturdays, 9/8C) have followed the four members of what has come to be known as the Clone Club as they sought to find out a) who was trying to kill them off and why, and b) how did they come to exist in the first place.

Along the way the series explored concepts like identity, sibling rivalry, nature vs. nurture and more. Series co-creators Graeme Manson and John Fawcett have expected their audience to pay attention and think. Millions of them have. Then, at the end of season two, they dropped an even bigger bombshell – there’s another series of clones; male ones!

Video: Orphan Black In Four Minutes!

Sarah & Rudy - Steve Wilkie

One of the best shows on television right now is Orphan Black. We’ve consistently given it a A+ grade for a reason (several actually) – it’s just that good.

Yes, it’s insanely detailed and requires that its audience actually watch and pay attention, but that’s not a bad thing. Orphan Black takes it for granted that its audience can keep up with it.

If you haven’t been watching, or just want a quick refresher before the Clone Club kicks into gear with Season Three on Saturday, April 18th (9/8C), follow the jump to check out Orphan Black in four minutes.

Season Three of Orphan Black Begins Production!

Ari & Tatiana, Clones - 11-16-14

Production has begun on Season Three of BBC America’s hit series Orphan Black. The already complex series will be adding new layers this season now that the Clone Club (Sarah, Cosima and Allision – all played by Tatiana Maslany) isn’t the only array of clones in town.

Plus, we get to see if Ari Miller can match Tatiana Maslany’s chops as he plays an array of clones, too. That should make for compelling viewing even without the myriad other machinations going on on the show.

Season three of Orphan Black  will be in production throug March 25, 2015 – and will premiere in the spring. For more details, follow the jump.
