Amy Schumer is making the jump from stand up comic and star of her own sketch comedy show to movie star – and in Judd Apatow’s fifth movie as a director, no less.
Trainwreck is about a woman whose take on relationships is based on her father’s words, ‘Monogamy isn’t realistic.’ (To be fair, he’d just gone through a painful divorce at the time.) Twenty-three years, Amy has a great job at a men’s magazine and a bunch of great friends. Then she’s assigned to interview a certain sports doctor…
Check out the first trailer after the jump. Trainwreck will be in theaters on July 17th.
Tonight, Psych makes its Wednesday debut [USA, 10/9C] – a new night coupled with the loss of the lead-in that used to be provided by the now departed Monk. That means it’s time to break out the big guns – and not just the ones masquerading as John Cena’s biceps!
Psych [USA, Wednesdays, 10/9C] returns for its winter premiere tonight – a new night – and minus the lead-in of perennial favorite, Monk, which ended its eight-year run in December. I took part in a teleconference Q&A session with series star James Roday and John Cena, who guest stars in the premiere. Unfortunately, their schedules where such that there was no overlap, so Mr. Cena was onboard for the first twenty minutes, then had to get on an airplane and Mr. Roday joined, us for the last half-hour, from the studio. It was an unusual situation that allowed for some interesting questions.
