This week on GeekScholars Movie News, presented by Eclipse Magazine, we tackle that very question having each of the hosts choose one movie per decade, from the 1960s to the 2000s, to place into a hypothetical cinema time capsule. Eclipse Magazine presents GeekScholars Movie News Podcast Episode 039: Preview Reviews for: The Campagin, Argo, and Gangster Squad! Review of Dark Shadows!

GeekScholars Movie NewsThis week on GeekScholars Movie News, presented by Eclipse Magazine, we dive into a whole slew of preview reviews as we look at a trio of films gearing up for release later this year: The Campaign, a political comedy starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifinikas, Argo, a historical thriller about the Iran hostage crisis of 1979, and Gangster Squad, a cop/mob actioneer set in 1960s Los Angeles starring Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, and Sean Penn.

From there, even though the GeekScholars wanted to go see The Avengers for a 2nd, and in some cases, 3rd time, GeekScholars Jill and Fox headed to the theaters to give the gothic soap opera adaptation, Dark Shadows, a quick peek, so listen in to hear what they had to say about it. After that we have some quickies including news about James Cameron,Prometheus, Red 2, and Kick-Ass 2.

GeekScholars Movie NewsThis week on GeekScholars Movie News, presented by Eclipse Magazine, we start off with a whole bunch of Star Trek 2 rumors. Which villain is Benedict Cumberbath playing? Are old original series cast members returning? And what alien races might we see?

After that, you may have heard about a little movie called The Avengers. Listen to our glowing reviews with our special guest, honorary GeekScholar Nelson, a lifelong comic book aficionado. During the show, you’ll get a completely spoiler-free discussion of the movie, but, if you’ve already seen The Avengers, listen to our special bonus post-show conversation where we geek out properly. Just be warned- there be TONS of spoilers during that segment, after the credits.

GeekScholars Movie NewsThis week on GeekScholars Movie News, presented by Eclipse Magazine, we look at the always fantastic, blockbuster-filled month of May. It’s a great time of year to go to the movies, and we’ll tell you which flicks are simply not to be missed!

From there we dive into some preview reviews. Our first trailer we look at is a prohibition period piece starring Shia LeBeouf and Tom Hardy as bootlegging brothers in Lawless. After that we discuss our first look at the quasi-sequel to Knocked Up called This is 40 starring Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd.

From there we have few quickies to update you on as well as our weekend preview which really only deals with the one movie you should be seeing- The Avengers.
