Man of Steel is to movie adaptations of DC Comics characters what Iron Man and Iron Man 3 are to movie adaptations of Marvel’s superheroes. It cuts through the multiple iterations of Superman origin stories from 75 years of the character, takes the best bits, filters them through the filters of story writers Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer and then zaps them with the energy and vision of director Zack Snyder. It is best Superman movie since Superman II – and easily on a par with that film.
I think Zack Snyder may have nailed it. Check out Man of Steel’s spectacular final trailer after the jump.
It’s edited down from the trailer, but it’s possibly even more effective. To quote the Big Blue Boy Scout, ‘What do you think?’
Warner Bros. has released two versions of a trailer for Man of Steel, each with a different voiceover. Take One is above; Take Two follows the jump.
Epic battles come to life as the visually-striking film is released on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Triple Play and DVD this week. IMMORTALS is the story of one brave warrior, touched by the gods, who must overcome all odds to save mankind from a merciless and powerful tyrant. As usual, the Blu-Ray has more special features than the DVD, including an alternate beginning, two alternate endings, deleted scenes and an amazing graphic novel. In case you missed it, you can revisit the Eclipse review of Immortals here before picking up your choice of disk, which hit the shelf March 6.
Immortals is a big, sprawling movie about ancient wars – the war between the Greek gods and the Titans; the attempt by King Hyperion to conquer Greece, and a second war between gods and titans. It’s an orgy of awesome, bloody action perpetrated by awesome, bloody-minded men.
Tarsem Singh’s Immortals has a spectacular new trailer. Check it out following the jump.
For those who aren’t keeping up to date with the latest Superman movie directed by Zack Snyder, let me fill you in. Two days ago director Zack Synder had spoken with SFX and he had explained what had got him interested in directing the upcoming Suoerman movie currently titled Superman-The Man Of Steel:
“My feeling about Superman is that I’ve been a fan of the character for a long time. But the question for me was always what can you do with Superman in a modern world? And I think the amazing thing that Chris and David have created, that I’m workin on now, and the reason why I was like ‘Yeah I’ll do that,’ was that they found that in him. They found the why in him. That’s the exciting part for me.”
Zack Snyder continues to be secretive about Superman: The Man Of Steel but he had this comment to say:
“I can’t really talk about that without being kind of specific. But I can say I think Superman needs to be physical”.
So far, we don’t have much on the new Superman film but what we do know is that Henry Cavill is the man of steel, the film won’t have general Zod but will have Ursa, and Hans Zimmer is not scoring the film. Keep checking back for more updates on Superman: The Man of Steel
