HBO Max Launches May 27! Check Out the Trailers for Their Premiere!

HBO Max has announced the streaming service will premiere on Wednesday, May 27th – with four new series and a documentary.

Series titles include (trailers and descriptions follow) Craftopia: kids craft projects for a $5,000 prize; Legendary, a look at the world of underground ballroom; Love Life, starring Anna Kendrick; Looney tunes: new cartoon adventures of Bugs, Daffy, the Roadrunner and the gang; and The Not Too Late Show with Elmo (the world’s favorite three-and-a-half year old monster has a talk show!

The documentary film  On the Record follows one of the first black woman to come forward in thewake of  #MeToo.

J.J. Abrams Sets Three Series at HBO Max!

J.J. Abrams has set his first three series at HBO Max via his production company Bad Robot: Duster, a crime series set in the 1970s Southwest; Overlook, a series inspired by Stephen King’s The shining, and an untitled series featuring characters from the DC Comics series Justice League Dark.

HBO Max Forms Film Production Arm!

I have to say after 3 months I’ve been really disappointed with Disney+ offerings. I really expected a lot more original content than just The Mandalorian and a bunch of gloried reality shows and documentaries. It looks like HBOMax is going the AppleTV+ route and going to have a lot of original content available either when it launches or shortly after. Now they have officially launched a brand new film production company called Warner Pictures Group.

HBO’s Latest Comedy Series Run Coming April 12

Written and produced by Vicky Jones, HBO’s new half-hour comedy series RUN, debuting SUNDAY, APRIL 12 (10:30-11:00 p.m. ET/PT), follows a woman whose humdrum life is thrown upside down when she receives a text from her college sweetheart inviting her to drop everything and meet him in New York to fulfill the pact they made 17 years earlier.  The series will also be available on HBO NOW, HBO GO, HBO On Demand and partners’ streaming platforms.

HBO Max: Price Point, Breadth of Content – House of Dragons(!) – Unveiled!

HBO Max will launch in May, 2020 with a 10,000-hour library including 1800 movies plus a wide-ranging kids & families slate; new content from the likes of Ridley Scott, Greg Berlanti, Elizabeth Banks, Mindy Kaling, Issa Rae, Conan O’Brien and more.

Plus (wait for it…) – a straight to series order for ten episodes of Game of Thrones prequel House of Dragons! The series will follow the House of Targaryen beginning 300 years before the opening of Game of Thrones.
