In Conviction, a former president’s daughter is blackmailed into heading up a team to look into possible wrongful convictions by an ambitious DA. The team’s first case is a young black man who was convicted of killing his girlfriend eight years before.
Quick note: Cinderella is amazing in IMAX! Everything about its presentation – incredible sets, mind-blowing (and appropriate) effects and stunning costumes on appealing characters – is just gobsmackingly perfect in IMAX.
Then there’s the actual movie – a live action take on Disney’s animated classic, Cinderella, that improves on the story and is told with wit, class and panache.
Marvel’s Agent Carter (Tuesdays, 8/7C) provided ABC with a ratings increase that led to the network scheduling an encore broadcast of its two-hour premiere. In the next episode, Time & Tide, a crucial piece of evidence discovered in the final seconds of the premiere will lead to a confrontation between SSR agents and Howard Stark’s butler, Edwin Jarvis – and Agent Carter.
For a sneak peek (just to ratchet up the tension a bit), check out a new teaser clip after the jump.
Tonight, during the two-hour premiere of Agent Carter (ABC, Tuesdays, 8/7C) – a pretty spiffy show to be sure – the full-size teaser of Ant-Man got its national premiere. It actually looked to be quite interesting.
If you missed it, check it out following the jump. Ant-Man opens on July 17th.
Marvel’s Agent Carter is getting a double-sized premiere. When the ABC bridge between the Fall and Winter runs of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres on Tuesday, January 6 (8/7C), it will be with back-to-back episodes leading into a new episode of Forever.
While Captain America crashed in Captain America: First Avenger – to reappear decades later – life went on for those whom he’d left behind. In particular, Peggy Carter carried on to help the forerunner of S.H.I.E.L.D. get established. When Iron Man 3 comes to home video (HD Digital and HD Digital 3D on September 3; 3D BD, BD, DVD, Digital Copy, On Demand: September 24, 2013), Agent Carter, once again played by Hayley Atwell, will be the subject of the accompanying Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if Thor was Marvel’s Superman: The Movie, then Captain America: The First Avenger is its Raiders of the Lost Ark! And if the movie was splendid in 3D, it doesn’t lose much – if anything – in translation to 2D.
Captain America: The First Avenger looks good. Both its theatrical posters [the new North American one is posted above] and trailers show as much dedication to heart as action, and its TV spots only build on that impression.
