A good athlete knows when it’s time to retire and, perhaps, the same should true of fantasy leaguers (okay, probably not). Whatever the case, FXX’s The League has reached time. On Wednesday, September 9th (10/9C), the seventh and final season of the worst group of fantasy football leaguers ever premieres – followed by the young and nasty whippersnappers of You’re the Worst (10:30/9:30C) just stepping into their sophomore season.

Follow the jump for further details.

AXE COP -- (Airs Thursday, May 21, 12:00 AM e/p) CR: FXX

FXX’s Animation Domination lineup is one seriously crazy time!

For instance, take Axe Cop: based on the comic that’s written by a grade school kid and illustrated by his brother, this is one off the wall, hilarious piece of work. And I’m not even going to try to explain Major Lazer…

Follow the jump for taste via host of clips from this week’s programming and enjoy the madness. Animation Domination, Thursdays at midnight (11C) only on FXX.

Everyman Jay Baruchel Is Single And Searching On Man Seeking Woman!

MAN SEEKING WOMAN -- Pictured: Jay Baruchel as Josh. CR: Matthias Clamer/FXX

It’s a situation that’s familiar everyone of dating age – dumping/being dumped by someone and having to re-enter the dating pool. FXX’s Man Seeking Woman (Wednesdays, 10:30/9:30C)  is a surreal series that stars Jay Baruchel as Josh Greenberg, a 25-year old guy who’s in that exact spot.

Recently, Baruchel spoke with a group of journalists/bloggers, including Eclipse’s own Lora Bofill and me, about the show.

Wilfred’s Elijah Wood on Ryan, Wilfred and Wrapping Up the Series!

WILFRED (Season Premiere, Wednesday, June 25, 10:00 pm e/p) -- Pictured: Elijah Wood as Ryan Newman -- CR: Frank Ockenfels/FX

If there are two roles that have served notice more blatantly, that Elijah Wood is more than Frodo, they would be Sin City’s serial-killing Kevin and Wilfred’s (FXX, Wednesdays, 10/9C) Ryan – and Ryan has been around for considerably longer, taking advice from a dog, so probably more influential.

Now having finishing shooting the show’s fourth and final season, Wood spent some time talking with a group of bloggers/journalists about Ryan’s progress, saying goodbye to the sow’s family of cast and crew and having gotten to take Bear home with him – also, the Basement lives on!

Jason Gann On Saying Au Revoir to Wilfred!

WILFRED (Season Premiere, Wednesday, June 25, 10:00 pm e/p) -- Pictured: Jason Gann as Wilfred -- CR: Frank Ockenfels/FX

FXX’s Wilfred premieres its final season this evening (10/9C) and late last week, we had the pleasure of taking part in a conference call Q&A with series creator/star, Jason Gann.

Creatively, the series may have been a bit too far into the absurd to maintain a large audience, but it was always thought provoking and smart – something that continues, and remains hard to explain in a sentence (‘It’s about a depressed guy who gets life lessons from a selfish dog with a short attention span who is played by a guy in an obviously fake dog suit’ doesn’t even begin to capture the wonder and the weirdness that is Wilfred). Gann, as usual, was smart and genial – and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Wilfred reappear in some other incarnation at some nebulous point in the future. For now, it is what it is – and that is hugely entertaining.

Jim Jeffries on Legit Getting Darker, More Raw!

Legit (FXX, Wednesdays, 10/9C) was a dark and twisted surprise when it took the work of standup comic Jim Jeffries and got him to fashion it into a half-hour comedy. The show, about a standup comic and his best friends – an alcoholic sad sack and a remarkably cheerful quadriplegic – became one of those shows that dares you to redefine your definition of offensive.

This season, Legit moves from FX to its new sibling, FXX and (surprise!) gets darker and more twisted. It also begins to move away from Jeffries’ standup – though it does remain somewhat autobiographical. On Monday, Jeffries talked about the new season with a group of journalists/bloggers.
