TELEVISION NEWS: Fox Screws Paula Abdul, She’s Out of Idol!!

Noooooooo! Say it ain’t so!  Paula Abdul is no more, she posted on her Twitter account last night that she’s through with the show.  The producers of Idol treated her shabbily – first by bringing on Kara last year – who added nothing to the show and then giving Ryan Seacrest that big fat contract only to nickel and dime her later. It’s clear they were trying to force her out. What a juvenile way to do it. But I’m glad to see she refuse to put up with it walk. She’s already made, probably a hundred million off the show she doesn’t need them more than the show needs her.  The only fun in that show is to watch her be drunk and play off of Simon. There’s no chemistry with Kara and the other two so the show will suck even more this year.  I’m not going to go out on a limb and say I won’t watch, it’s too much of a trainwreck not to. But if it’s as boring as last year, I’ll only watch a few eps.

TELEVISION NEWS: It’s Season Finale Night for 24, Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill

Don’t forget the season Finale of 24 is tonight. And for those that still care, Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill have their finales tonight as well.

24 Promo

I’ll be watching 24 tonight, but I sort of lost interest 4 episodes ago when they went one twist two many with Tony’s reverse heal turn. I actually fell asleep on it the last two weeks. And this season was so awesome up till that point.

Gossip Girl

To bad I don’t have my DVR set up, but I’ll catch this when the DVDs come out.

One Tree Hill

Are they really going to kill off Peyton tonight?

TELEVISION: Fox Reveals 2009-10 Schedule!

At this morning’s Fox upfront, the network unveiled its schedule for 2009-10 and, as usual, some new shows [Human Target, Past Life and Sons of Tucson] were held back to mid-season because of the baseball playoffs. One drama and two comedies [Glee, Brothers and The Cleveland Show] will premiere in the fall.

Significant changes: House will lead-in to Lie to Me [making for an evening of lies being uncovered]; Fringe moves to Thursday, where it will lead-out from Bones [since Bones fans are so faithful, this could result in consistently good ratings for both shows – even on the overwhelmingly crowded Thursday nights]; So You Think You Can Dance moves to Tuesday and Wednesday in the fall, where it is expected to draw a better audience for new series, GLEE; despite not really finding an audience, the woeful ‘Til Death returns on Friday nights, sandwiched between Brothers and Dollhouse.

Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse, somewhat of a surprise pick-up, returns to its Friday night timeslot after making a few cost concessions. Fox entertainment president, Kevin Riley described the move “as a bet on Joss Whedon.”

American Idol and 24 return to their familiar timeslots – good news for Past Life and Human Target.
