You probably know her as Slayer-in-Training Vi from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Mag from Dollhouse, or, if you’re a gamer, Codex from the long-running web series, The Guild. She’s a fine violinist and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Science for Mathematics. Plus, she was Billy’s crush, Penny, in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog – where she sang like an angel.
Because she’s a genuine Renaissance woman, you might think she’d be a bit full of herself, so, of course, she turns out to be the loveliest, most grounded, fun person to chat with. Not only that, she’s turning up on Syfy in two roles – one in Eureka, and the lead in Syfy’s TV-movie, Red: Werewolf Hunter [Saturday, 9/8C]. She spoke with a number of bloggers/journalists on Monday and went well beyond the expected hour – to the enjoyment of all.
Christmas episodes have become a tradition for many television shows – network and cable – but with a very few exceptions [think Bones, where they keep killing Santa], they tend to be pretty maudlin stuff. Now, two Syfy programs – Warehouse 13 and Eureka – will be producing standalone Christmas eps. I strongly doubt they’ll be maudlin [neither series does that], so I’m actually looking forward to seeing what they come up with.
Monday afternoon I had the pleasure of taking part in a teleconference Q&A session with Warehouse 13’s [Syfy, Tuesdays, 9/8C] Allison Scagliotti and Eureka’s [Syfy, Fridays, 9/8C] Neil Grayston on the small matter of Syfy’s first ever crossover, in which Eureka’s Douglas Fargo [Grayston] visited Warehouse 13 to upgrade their computers and Claudia Donovan [Scagliotti], in turn, visits Eureka to check out some of the town’s unusual tech and pick up a batch of Fargo’s synthesized purple goo for the warehouse.
Eclipse Magazine’s coverage of Comic Con 2010 continues as we sat in on the The Syfy channel’s double billed press roundtable of Eureka and Warehouse 13.
We’ll have lots of goodies to share with Eclipse Magazine readers from this very informative combo, but right now we leave you with a video treat: Colin Ferguson talking about working on season 4 of Eureka and the drawbacks to wearing period piece costumes.
When Eureka [Syfy, Fridays, 9/8C] begins its fourth season tomorrow evening, the main characters find themselves in Camp Eureka, three years before the town was founded – and their return to the present has a little, teensy glitch [or six].
Series Co-Creator Jaime Paglia and series star Colin Ferguson [Sheriff Jack Carter] went well beyond their allotted time on the teleconference Q&A, they were so happy to be talking about what sounds like it will be Eureka’s strangest and most entertaining season yet.
The fourth season of Eureka [Syfy, Fridays, 9/8C] gets underway this evening with a full blown time travel episode in which the show’s core characters find themselves whisked away from Eureka’s annual Founder’s Day festivities and deposited in Camp Eureka – a military base that will eventually [in a few years] become the town envisioned by Albert Einstein and Doctor Trevor Grant [James Callis].
