On its sixth day on the road to San Diego Comic-Con 2017, BOOM! Studios announces Kong: Gods of Skull Island – a standalone story.
‘…I wanted to see more of that tribe’s culture in the films… after all, theysurvived for generations at the bottom of the food chain in the harshest, deadliest environment on Earth, and they worshipped Kong as a living god.’
Kon: Gos of Skul Island is a one-shot that is written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and illustrated by Chad Lewis. It will in comics shops in October.
BOOM! Studios has announced the return of Dee Diesel – hero of BOOM! Box graphic novel, Diesel: Ignition – in Tyson Hesse’s Diesel: Gear Shift Special, for Day 2 of BOMM! Studios: The Road to San Diego.
Gear Shift begins immediately following the events of Ignition and ‘takes Dee and her crew in a totally new direction that I think fans of the first story will really enjoy!’
San Diego Comic-Con 2017 takes place at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, during the weekend of July 19 – July 23.
BOOM! Studios and Twentieth Century Fox want to thank their fans at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 by partnering for the 2017 BOOM! Studios Drink Up – the longest-running annual party open to fans thrown by a comic book company at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
To celebrate the most successful year in BOOM! Studios history, the company and Twentieth Century Fox Film want to buy the first 1,000 fans their first drink at the BOOM! Studios Drink Up for free! (Fans must present valid ID to show they are of legal drinking age to receive alcoholic beverages.)
The annual event will once again be held on Thursday, July 20th beginning at 9pm at the Odysea Lounge, located on the second floor of the Hilton Bayfront Hotel.
The Overlook Film Festival announced its lineup today and one of the key announcements was that legendary independent writer-director-producer Roger Corman would receive the festival’s first Master of Horror Award.
The festival has an impressive feature film and shorts lineup – including four world premieres (Blood Drive, Still/Born, Capture and Primal Screen) and such anticipated films as Lady Macbeth, Metal Machine Kodoku and The Untamed.
There will also be a festival-long immersive horror game and much more.
Over its inaugural weekend, the Overlook Film Festival will present 37 films (20 features and 17 shorts from 16 countries) – including a secret closing film described as ‘a hotly anticipated film from a bold voice in film.’
TBS will bring SXSW the best in tech, fashion, design, music and more with the second iteration of “In Search Of” — a pop-up, interactive marketplace with an Austin-flare, bringing to life the network’s buzzworthy hit, SEARCH PARTY.
Inside “In Search Of,” visitors will experience the ideal shop for SEARCH PARTY’s leading lady Dory, complete with the latest in fashion, technology, and artisanal goods, as well as a lounge space to kick back with friends and binge the first season.
In Search Of will be open to festival goers for three days – beginning at noon on Tuesday, March 14th.
