The second season premiere gets off to a rocky start – the corpse of newly discovered Cleverman Koen West being zipped up in a body bag.

Meanwhile, a convoy transporting Sub-Humans as the powers that be call them (in spite of their being neither) is attacked by a single warrior – who sets them free.

Hap and Leonard, Gomorrah, Top of Lake and Cleverman Highlight SundanceTV’s 2017 Slate!

SundanceTV announced its 2017 production slate today and the second seasons of Hap and Leonard (subtitled Mucho Mojo), Italian crime series Gomorrah, award-winning Australian mystery series To of the Lake (subtitled China girl) and Australian sci-fi series Cleverman are among its most intriguing shows.

The network’s unscripted series Close Up with The Hollywood Reporter is also back for a second second season with roundtable discussions featuring ‘the top directors, actors, actresses, producers, writers, documentary filmmakers, and songwriters behind this year’s most talked about movies.’

Also coming up: new drama Liar, season two of The A-Word and docuseries Murder in the Heartland: In Cold Blood Revisited. Series descriptions – and the first trailer for Hap and Leonard: Mucho Mojo – follow the break.

SundanceTV’s The A Word Picked Up for Season Two!

SundanceTV has ordered a second season of its critically acclaimed series The A Word – ‘an authentic portrait of ‘a contemporary family after their young son is diagnosed with autism.’

Epic Genre Series Cleverman Premieres On SundanceTV in June!

SundanceTV is bringing and epic genre series, Cleverman, to North America. Set in the very near future, the series follows a group of extraordinary beings who battle for survival in a world where humans feel increasingly threatened by them. These creatures of ancient myth are called Hairypeople.

Central to the drama is the story of two estranged Indigenous brothers, one of whom assumes the power of the “Cleverman” who acts as the conduit between the worlds of the Dreaming and the present.

SundanceTV Goes Genre On Co-Production Cleverman!

SundanceTV is going sci-fi in a co-production with Red Arrow International (Bosch), Goalpost Pictures Australia (The Sapphires) and New Zealand’s Pukeko Pictures (Thunderbirds) of Cleverman, a unique take on non-humans vs. humans.

Cleverman stars Iain Glen (Game of Thrones) and Frances O’Connor (The Missing) star in the series about a group of non-humans trying to survive in a world where humans have come to feel inferior and seek to silence, exploit and kill them.

Aside from the outstanding cast, Cleverman will boast creature design by the Oscar®-winning Weta Workshop. The international production is slated to premiere in 2016. For more, follow the jump.
