BOOM! Studios has announced two exclusives for Local comic Shop Day® – a WWE Royal Rumble Print and a Power Rangers Blind Box.
The WWE Royal Rumble print is by artist Brent Schooover (Generations: Captain Marvel & Captain Mar-Vell) and is the culmination of twelve connecting covers of BOOM! Studios’ WWE comics series. It will a 1,000 copy limited edition.
The Power Rangers Blind Box will include a copy of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Year One: Deluxe hardcover; a limited-edition Mighty Morphin Power Rangers lithograph by Acme Archives featuring one of the Rangers, including rare Green and White Rangers; and more. It will be a 500 box limited edition.
BOOM! Studios and GLAAD announce The Future is LGBTQ panel at New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2017.
The panel will be moderated by Vulture editor Abraham Riesman and will feature several well known comics creators (including Marvel’s America’s Gabby Rivera, Lumberjanes’ Brooklyn Allen, DC’s Justice League of america’s Steve Orlando and BOOM! Studio’s The Woods creator James Tynion IV – among others) discussing LGBTQ representation in pop culture and the path toward a brighter and more inclusive future.
New York Comic con 2017 runs from October 5-8 at New York’s Javits Center.
Misfit City, the BOOM! Studios adventure series about Wilder and her friends – whose hometown is where they filmed that cult kids’ adventure movie in the ’80s – has been extended for a second story arc picking up from the discovery of a secret cave and someone thought dead turns out to still be alive.
The second arc of the critically acclaimed series – from screenwriter Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith (Legally Blonde, 10 Things I Hate About You), co-writer Kurt Lustgarten, and artist Naomi Franquiz – begins in Misfit City #5, in stores on September 20th. Pre-orders will be taken until August 28th.
Pre-orders are also being taken for Misfit City Vol. 1 – collecting the comic’s first story arc, which will be in stores in December.
BOOM! Studios is teaming up with Barnes & Noble to unite the communities of comics and roller derby with a fan event for SLAM! Vol. 1 by Pamela Ribon and Veronica Fish. At 10 fan events across the country, fans of both comics and derby are welcome to meet and greet their local leagues to learn more about the hard-hitting sport and engage with the community.
Pamela Ribon will be joined by the LA Derby Dolls and San Fernando Valley Roller Derby leagues on August 20th at 4 PM at the Barnes & Noble at The Grove to sign copies of SLAM! Vol. 1, as well as answer questions from fans in addition to the league meet-and-greet.

Studios and WWE announce the WWE Survivor Series 2017 Special – an oversized, stand-alone issue that features several short stories tied to key matches from the storied history of WWE, including the Brock Lesnar and Goldberg showdown in 2016 that was 12 years in the making; the 2016 Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown Women’s Elimination match; and perhaps the most controversial (and infamous) match in WWE history—1997’s Montreal Screwjob.

BOOM! Studios is launching the first multimedia Graphic novel experience with Bad Mask – a superhero title that is told through comics, trading cards, newspapers, magazines and more.
“Bad Mask is about an organization of super-powered terrorists that want to take over the world; Metal Metro, the robot that stands in their way; and one young Bad Mask agent’s quest to destroy Metal Metro,” explains Chad.
Bad Mask will be published under the BOOM Box imprint (home to Lumberjanes, Giant Days and The Backstagers). It will be in comics shops and book stores in November.
