The first trailer for Amazon’s Sneaky Pete has been released.
The series follows con man Marius (Giovanni Ribisi) as he attempts to take on the identity of Pete (Ethan Embry), his former cellmate, in order come up with the money he owes Vince (Bryan Cranston) – a gangster whos is not to be crossed.
Welcome back to the ’80s with season two of Red Oaks, where assistant tennis pro David Meyers is recovering from one heckuva year – his parents’ divorce and having to drop out of NYU (dashing his dream of becoming a filmmaker). Even his romance with Skye, daughter of the club’s president isn’t what it was.
But as much as conflict can cause drama, it can also create humor and Red Oaks ‘is about all the funny places we find ourselves… on the road to finding ourselves.
When amazon’s Red Oaks returns on November 11th, things will be in a state of flux following Red Oaks’ assistant tennis pro David Meyers’ parents divorce. On the plus side, there’s his budding romance with Skye – the daughter of the club’s president – though she’s just returned from a year abroad and is just a little bit more worldly.
Ahhh, the ’80s…
Amazon has just released a trailer for Red Oaks Season 2. check it out after the jump.
This week begins the full dive into the new Fall TV season and our DVRs will be getting quite the workout once again. Last week saw the premieres of “Blindspot” (10 p.m., NBC) “American Horror Story” (10 p.m., FX), “Dancing With the Stars” (8 p.m., ABC), and “Z Nation” (8 p.m., Syfy). But this week we get really serious with no less than a total of 43 shows returning just this week alone through Sunday. So take a deep breath, get those snacks ready, and enjoy the ride!
Comedy pilots, I Love Dick, Jean-Claude Van Johnson and The Tick are premiering on Amazon today.
I Love Dick comes from the creator of Transparent, Jill Solloway; Jean-Claude Van Johnson takes retired martial arts movie star Jean-Claude Van Damme into an intense new career as a ‘private Contractor,’ and The Tick revives the Big Blue Bug of Justice with the original comic’s creator Ben Edlund writing.
In Amazon’s pilot for Jean-Claude Van Johnson, an aging former martial arts movie star comes out of retirement to become a ‘private contractor.’
The trailer for the pilot sets the stage as JCVD is living a bored, quietly desperate life pondering what he’ll do next. Besides adding yet another bit of evidence that Jean-Claude Van Damme can act (if you haven’t seen the movie JCVD, run out and find a copy!), it also shows that he’s willing to have some fun with his image.
Also, music by Jacques Brel! Check it out after the break.
Amazon’s The Tick, based on the classic Ben Edlund (who executive produces and writes) comics series, looks a bit different from the version that ran on FOX for all of seven episodes (yeah, I’m still ticked off about that…).
The new version of the deliverer of Mighty Blue Justice looks different – the new costume is weirdly textured – but the essentials are there.
Plus, Amazon has sent us a collection of photos that show us other denizens of The Tick’s superhero world – and Arthur definitely looks like an Arthur. Check out the photos after the break (click on thembnails to embiggen).
The Tick is one of three Amazon half-hour pilots that will drop on August 19th.
