Ok, I’ll admit it, I’m pretty upset. Just went to get my ticket for iHeartRadio’s JingleBall 2013 Concert at DC’s Verizon Center and ticket master will not let me get a single ticket. I mean really, now Single People aren’t allowed to go out and enjoy themselves? Nevermind, the fact that I was getting a ticket that cost freaking $300! What a crock of crap. So my money’s not good enough for these elitist assholes? Is this where attending concerts is heading? Bad enough they expect you to purchase tickets to shows 6 MONTHS in advance now single people need not apply? I’m so annoyed, I’m not even sure why I’m even bothering to post this announcement.
On paper the show sounds like it’ll be great or at the very least interesting. The star-studded concert, hosted by Clear Channel’s Z100, New York’s Hit Music Station, on December 13 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, will feature Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Fall Out Boy, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Selena Gomez, Fifth Harmony, Ariana Grande, Jason Derulo and Austin Mahone, with more still to be announced. DC’s Verizon center show is scheduled for Dec 16.
I’ll admit it, I LOVE Katy Perry – until her music quickly gets run into the ground. But the first 20 times I hear her songs, I’m into it and bopping my head like everyone else. By the hundreth time? I want shoot the radio. Yahoo has really stepped up their streaming game in the last year. On Tuesday, October 22, Yahoo Screen (http://screen.yahoo.com/music) will exclusively stream Katy Perry’s Album Release Party, celebrating her new studio album, PRISM.
Seems like the DMV is getting all the big tours. Cher’s Dressed to Kill Tour is coming to Verizon Center next April 4th, tickets go on sale next Friday, October 4th at noon. I can’t plan further than next week that alone 6 months away. This should be a great show. Full release is after the break. If you have American Express you can get your tickets before the general public.

Yes, I was at Disney’s D23 Expo in LA (Driving down the 405 in a cherry red Mustang)! She performed two songs Hurricane and Ready or Not. Here is Hurricane, because of the setup I had to go commando with my iPhone. She started off her 10 minute set
Some people understand the concept of ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ Like the producers of the annual CMA Awards, who have announced that Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the Awards for the sixth straight year on ABC Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 8/7C.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Sawn, Pt. 2 may have have led this year’s Teen choice Awards with seven wins, but the night belonged to the Glee kids and Cory Monteith – Lea Michele dedicated her award for Choice TV Actress: Comedy to her late boyfriend and co-star.
“I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out there how much all of your love and support has meant to me over these past very difficult few weeks,” Michele said.
“I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory for all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did. I promise that we’re going to get through this together.”
“He was very special to me and also to the world and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of our hearts and that is where he will stay forever.”
J.J. Cale has died at the age 74. His unique brand of bluesy country rock was cool and laid back and his songwriting skills were top notch.
Considering that he made enough money from Clapton’s covers of After Midnight and Cocaine that he never had to work a lick again, but kept on anyway, he really was in it for the music.
Naturally was one of the few perfect albums I’ve ever heard and while he never quite matched it again, he got scary close enough times to more than live up to the genius sobriquet that was tossed in his general direction more than a few times.
I had the pleasure to see him live a few times and, like his music, he was as cool and laid back as you’d expect. The first time, he was opening for the Ragin’ Cajun, Doug Kershaw – and two more different stage presences would be hard to find.
I expect that, wherever he is, he’s ‘sit on the porch without no shoes; picking his bass and singin’ the blues.’
