It’s Only the End of the World Dominates 2017 Canadian Screen Awards!

It’s Only the End of the World (Canada’s entrant for the 2017 Foreign Language Film Oscar®) dominated the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards with six wins including Best Film.

On the TV side, Orphan Black won for Best Drama and its star, Tatiana Maslany, won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role. She also took home the award for Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in the film The Other Half.

Christopher Plummer to be Honored at 2017 Canadian Screen Awards!

Christopher Plummer will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards.

Plummer – who added the Oscar® to his collection of Tonys, Drama Desk Awards and Emmy Awards for his role in Mike Mills’ Beginners – is best known for his role in The Sound of Music.

The 2017 Canadian Screen Awards will be broadcast live on CBC from Toronto’s Sony Centre for the Performing Arts on Sunday, March 12th (8/7C).

Howie Mandel to Host 2017 Canadian Screen Awards!

The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television has announced that Howie Mandel will host the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards – honoring the best in Canadian film and television.

The awards will be presented live on the CBC from the prestigious Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto on March 12, 2017.
