Skooba Laptop Bag

Are you in the market for a new laptop bag? Check out the beautiful bags from Skooba Design. Skooba sent me their new Weekend Warrior laptop bag. I’m not sure who this bag is for, but it’s pretty awesome. I used it on my resent Florida vacation. The bag is big enough to serve as a full suitcase (or mini-carry on), but it also has a special pocket for your laptop on one side and on another side a nice set of pockets for your pens and notebooks. My issue with the bag is, it’s billed as laptop bag, but it’s more of a duffel bag that just has a dedicated slot for your laptop.  The bag has over two-dozen pockets and compartments for clothing and travel supplies, plus laptop, camera, audio, cords and accessories and much, much more.

I really liked the convenience of the overall design of the bag. The one thing I forgot to test was whether this is one of the newer model of bags that the TSA lets you keep your laptop in. I didn’t feel like fighting with TSA or getting patted down, so I didn’t test the theory. I suspect it is, because the laptop is on its own separate side. My other minor complaint about the bag is that I’m used to using a small carry on with wheels, this bag you have to carry in your hands or sling over your shoulder. It’s actually surprisingly lightweight.

At $119, is this bag worth getting? I’m not sure, it depends on what type of traveler you are. If you travel a couple of times a year, I think it’d be a nice substitution for the traditional carry on, but for others, the bag is big,. bulky, and a bit awkward to lug around on a frequent basis. The bag is also great for people who have to carry around a bunch of equipment.   I don’t think I would personally purchase one, but it is a fine, quality piece of luggage. Check out SkoobaDesign.com for this bag and some of their other neat laptop bags.
