On July 31 & August 1, 2008 Profiles In History is going to be holding the ultimate Superhero costume and prop auction featuring the largest collection of film and TV superheroes including Superman, X-Men, Spider-man, and Jurassic Park dinosaurs created by Stan Winston Studio to highlight Three Million Dollar sale of Hollywood Memorabilia.

Founded in 1985 by Joseph Maddalena, Profiles in History is the nation’s leading dealer in guaranteed-authentic original historical autographs, letters, documents, vintage signed photographs and manuscripts. Profiles in History is located in Calabasas Hills, CA- virtually a stone’s throw away from every major Hollywood studio – which ensures a constant flow of fantastic and rare collectibles. With an extensive network of dealers, collectors, and institutions, they are proud to play an important role in the preservation of motion picture history.

“I find people buy their memories,” says Joe Maddalena says. “It’s all about memories, taking us back to a time, perhaps an event with a long lost relative who took you as a kid to see Star Wars. The baby boomers have come into the spending part of their lives. They have had success and are collecting their childhood. They want 50s, 60s and 70s TV collectibles or memorabilia, as this era of TV was such a huge part of their lives.”

In the upcoming Profiles in History Costume and Prop auction, collectors and fans alike will have an opportunity to bid on such amazing items as The Original T.I.E. Fighter filming miniature from Star Wars: A New Hope, 35 lots of original screen-used visual effects creatures created by the Academy Award-winning effects house Stan Winston Studio, including a screen-used full-scale animatronic male Velociraptor from Jurassic Park III and a screen-used full-scale male T-Rex head from The Lost World: Jurassic Park II.

Also featured is the largest collection of film & TV superhero costumes to ever be offered for sale, including Ben Affleck’s complete Daredevil costume. In addition there is an Ian Fleming handwritten manuscript relating to the James Bond movie From Russia With Love, Clint Eastwood’s The Outlaw Josey Wales hero Colt Walker with original saddle holster, Tobey Maguire’s “Spider-Man” and Kirsten Dunst “Mary Jane” costumes from Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2.
