FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NASHVILLE, TN (April 23, 2014) – Nashville’s Thursday night summer celebration, Nashville Dancin’ presented by Dollar General, is back and ready to rock! Your hosts for this year are the hilarious duo Caroline and Jen from CBS’s Amazing Race, along with beloved Nashvillian, Storme Warren.

The free event kicks off at Riverfront Park on June 12 at 5 p.m. and will run every Thursday through July 31. Those in attendance can expect to taste true Nashville as the city’s favorite food trucks line up on First Avenue ("Food Truck Row") to showcase the unique culinary scene in Music City while East Tennessee distiller, Ole Smoky Moonshine, will be on site to mix up specialty summer cocktails.

Nashville Dancin’ presented by Dollar General is made possible by our generous sponsors: Dollar General, State Water Heater, Budlight, Ole Smoky Moonshine, Town & Country Ford, 102.9 The Buzz, Xfinity, Fox 17 and more.

"For the second year, Dollar General is excited to support Nashville Dancin’ and continue our commitment to our hometown community," said Rick Dreiling, chairman and CEO of Dollar General. "At Dollar General, we work hard every day to help people save time and money so supporting a free, local event that benefits our city and provides free music downtown is a natural fit."

Natives will be pleasantly reminded of Dancin’ in the District, the bygone concert series that ran for 13 years on lower Broadway. Last year, event creator Tom Morales (TomKats Catering, the Southern, Loveless Cafe) revived the weekly series with a brand new spirit while staying true to the principals that had originally made Dancin’ in the District a success. When asked why Morales revived Dancin’, he cited three things, "The timing was right, Mayor Dean was receptive and Dollar General stepped forward to keep it free."

Whether you’re a professional working downtown, a family driving in from the suburbs, or a first time visitor looking to explore the capitol city’s diverse entertainment district, Nashville Dancin’ presented by Dollar General sure won’t disappoint. Dancin’ exists to showcase the unique musical and culinary talent of Nashville all while giving both locals and visitors a reason to dance.
