There’s something strange…coming to DC this Friday and Saturday. If you want to ride the new Ecto-1, Who Ya Gonna Call…. LYFT! Today, the famous ghost-busting ride of the upcoming summer movie made a stop in the DC Area to give fans of the franchise a preview of their upcoming promotion.

People gathered and watched outside the Clarendon Metro station to get their pictures taken of the new Ecto-1 from the upcoming film “Ghostbusters” – coming to theatres on July 15th. This unique campaign will give free rides in five U.S. Cities: San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Boston and Washington, D.C. If you ever wanted to ride in a star car, then you don’t want to miss this.

If you want to take part of the promotion, here are the details – On July 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; a “Ghost Mode” button will show up on your Lyft app. Five Ecto-1 cars will cruise around each of the participating cities to pick up a handful of lucky riders who click the button. The movie’s soundtrack will play in the car, and Lyft drivers will dress up as the Ghostbusters.

Each “Ecto-1” will be equipped with limited edition key lime-flavored Hostess Twinkies and Hi-C Ecto Cooler, two products featured in the movie. The riders can enter a national contest for a chance to win tickets to the Los Angeles premiere of “Ghostbusters”.

Earlier, I had my chance to ride in the Ecto-1. It was amazing to live out a childhood dream. Now, I wish I had the proton pack strapped to the back because I Ain’t ‘Fraid of No Ghosts!
