Jenny From The Block Video

Has anyone seen the new Jenny From the Block video on MTV? The video is primarily her and Ben Affleck being spied on by paparazzi. The song is about how she’s the same person she’s always been since she was living in Bronx, NY (a point she more than covered in the I’m Real song). Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t understand how this video proves that she’s just like everyone else. I mean she’s driving a Bentley, cruising on a yacht, and traveling around town with her movie star boyfriend. She’s Jenny from the block alright. I think that block is located somewhere in the Hollywood Hills. Of course, the video deals with how upset she is because people in the media are constantly talking about her personal life. Okay, so if you don’t want people to talk and speculate, why put your boyfriend in your music video? Why have cameras follow you around “behind the scenes”? Why discuss your private life with Diane Sawyer, Oprah, and everyone under the sun? Meanwhile, if you’re really a REAL person, do you have to tell people that? Wouldn’t everyone just know. She claims people make up stuff about her being a diva, but there are other celebrities who are said to be down-to-earth. Maybe she is the same person she’s always been, a self-absorbed poser.
