Intriguing Trailer: HBO’s Togetherness!

Mark & Jay Duplass have made a name for themselves as makers of micro-budgeted films – dubbed by others as mumblecore – that have been critically acclaimed and them enough money to continue making movies.

Now the brothers have set up a series at HBO: Togetherness – a show about four near-forty people who live under the same roof and are trying to keeps their dreams and relationships alive. The series stars Mark Duplass, Melanie Lynskey, Amanda Peet and Steve Zissis.

Togetherness premieres on Sunday, January 11, 2015 (9:30/8:30C). A revealing teaser trailer has been made available. Check it out after the jump.

TOGETHERNESS is written and directed by Jay & Mark Duplass

From brothers Jay and Mark Duplass, in their TV debut, the new comedy series TOGETHERNESS begins its eight-episode season SUNDAY, JAN. 11 (9:30-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. Blending laughter and pathos, the show follows four adults nearing 40, living under the same roof and struggling to keep their relationships and their dreams alive.

Brett (Mark Duplass) and Michelle (Melanie Lynskey) are struggling to rekindle the spark in their relationship, which has puttered out from the stresses of marriage and children. When Brett’s friend Alex (Steve Zissis) and Michelle’s sister, Tina (Amanda Peet), move in with them, the foursome engage in a tragically comedic struggle to follow their personal dreams, while still remaining good friends, siblings and spouses to each other.
