Netflix is getting into Game of Thrones complexity with its new series Marco Polo. Loosely based on the travels of the famed explorer, played by Lorenzo Richelmy, Marco Polo is set in Kublai Khan’s 13th century kingdom.
The first official trailer for the series captures the grandeur of the world in Polo travels – and looks to have a mix of drama, violence and sex that will HBO’s fantasy series – though the only dragons that might appear here would be of the artistic variety.
