Freeform Orders Additional Episodes for Young & Hungry: Season Five!

Young & Hungry is getting a full fifth season. Freeform has announced its order for additional episodes for the show.

Season five of Young & Hungry premiere on Monday, March 13th (8/7C) with lead characters Gabi and Josh trying to adhere to ‘friends with benefits’ relationship without letting their feelings get in the way.

FREEFORM PICKS UP ADDITIONAL SERVINGS OF ‘YOUNG & HUNGRY’ FOR SEASON FIVE

Freeform ordered additional episodes of its hit original comedy series “Young & Hungry,” it was announced today by Karey Burke, executive vice president, Programming & Development, Freeform. The first half of season five premieres on Freeform on Monday, March 13, at 8:00 p.m. EDT. The back half of season five will air at a later date.

In the fourth season finale, Gabi and Josh decided to be “friends with benefits,” much to the group’s chagrin, after their previous attempts at a relationship went awry. In the fifth season, Gabi and Josh try to prove to everyone that they won’t let feelings get in the way of their new arrangement, Sofia continues on the path to a career in journalism, and Josh faces an unexpected reunion with his estranged father. Comedy legend Betty White guest stars this season as neighbor Ms. Wilson. Television legend Carl Reiner will also appear. Michael Voltaggio will again appear as himself in an upcoming episode, and Heather Dubrow (“The Real Housewives of Orange County”) will also guest star.

“Young & Hungry” wrapped its fourth season on August 3, 2016, with strong season-to-season gains in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, powered by double digit increases across male demographics. The series was the No. 1 original ad-supported cable comedy for Summer 2016 in Adults 18-34 and cable TV’s No. 1 series on Wednesdays at 8 o’clock across key target Adults 18-34, Viewers 12-34 and Female (W18-34/W18-49/F12-34) demographics. The series and cast have been nominated for seven Teen Choice Awards and two People’s Choice Awards since its premiere in the summer of 2014.

“Young & Hungry” is produced by David Holden, Ashley Tisdale, Jessica Rhoades, Caryn Lucas, and Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum in association with CBS Television Studios. Gabi Moskowitz, of BrokeAssGourmet.com, is a San Francisco-based food blogger and contributed to the development of this project. The series stars Emily Osment, Jonathan Sadowski, Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley and Rex Lee.
