This episode of the GeekScholars Movie News podcast, quite simply, is awesome. To start, the GeekScholars discuss, and speculate about, the headlines for the week which include the news that Al Pacino will play famed Penn State football coach Joe Paterno in a biopic, Daniel Craig’s future with the James Bond franchise, Star Trek 2‘s newly revealed title, thoughts on the announced Safe House prequel/ sequel, and the addition of Jim Carrey to Kick-Ass 2.
And while all of that sparked some really interesting (and very geeky) conversation, what you absolutely do not want to miss are the crew’s picks for recasting Raiders of the Lost Ask, in their latest installment of the GeekScholars Casting Competition, back by popular demand.
From there, the GeekScholars get into their Preview Reviews for the week, taking a look at the trailer for the holiday family comedy Parental Guidance, starring Billy Crystal and Bette Midler, as well as the first preview for the action-fantasy flick, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton.
The GeekScholars then wrap up the episode by looking at the weekend box-office to see what’s coming out in both wide and limited release.
