Bleach… The Movie?

Bleach

Bleach, one of the most popular manga and anime´ series in the world is going Hollywood. VIZ Media today announced that Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired the live-action feature film rights to the series.

Peter Segal (Get Smart, The Longest Yard) of Callahan Filmworks is producing with an eye toward directing. The film’s creative team also includes screenwriter Dan Mazeau, who recently penned Warner Bros.’ upcoming sequel to Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans.

DC Schedules Watchmen Prequels!

It’s been twenty-five years since Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons turned the world of comics superheroes on its head with the release of Watchmen. Now, this summer, – and with the blessing of Dave Gibbons – the publisher has scheduled the release of seven interconnected mini-series prequels to the legendary graphic novel. The prequels, published under the Before Watchmen banner will be by some of the finest creators in today’s comics, including: J. Michael Straczynski [Babylon 5, Superman: Earth One], Darwyn Cooke [The Spirit, Parker], Brian Azzarello [100 Bullets], Adam Hughes [Justice League, Catwoman], John Higgins [Watchmen], Andy Kubert [Flashpoint], Joe Kubert [Sgt. Rock]and more.

Marvel Avengers MMO is Coming to Facebook? Huh?!

This week Disney Interactive unveiled the details of their upcoming Marvel Avengers Alliance Facebook Game.  Marvel: Avengers Alliance provides a combat role playing game experience with dozens of familiar Marvel superheroes and villains to be collected, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Wolverine, Hawkeye, Black Widow and many more. Once a hero is added to the Avengers team, players can begin training them to unlock unique abilities and attacks, as well as using “ISO-8″ to further customize each character’s stats. Players will also be able to face-off against each other, challenging their social graph in super-powered asynchronous PvP battles. Marvel: Avengers Alliance takes place in the wake of a galaxy-wide disaster, known as “the Pulse,” exposing Manhattan to attack from Marvel’s most formidable villains.

Players are recruited as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., the secret espionage and peace-keeping organization of the Marvel Universe, to assemble and lead teams of superheroes with a mission to keep New York City safe from the clutches of villains.  Marvel: Avengers Alliance will be live on Facebook in Q1 of this year. Justice League: Doom coming to DVD/Blu-Ray

February 28, 2012 marks the release date of the latest animated film from the DC Universe entitled Justice League: Doom. The script was written by the late Dwayne McDuffie and brings back several cast members including: Kevin Conroy-Batman, Tim Daly-Superman, Nathan Fillion-Green Lantern, and Michael Rosenbaum-Flash to name a few.
