Contest! Call of Duty: WWII PSN Private Beta Giveaway

The kind folks at Activision love me hard – not hard enough to fly me anywhere, but I’ll take what I can get. They have given me 10 codes to give away for their upcoming Private Beta of Call of Duty: WWII! The beta runs this weekend Aug 25th – Aug 28th and the following weekend. The game hits the streets in Nov. This is one of my most wanted games of the fall because – who doesn’t want to kill some Nazi’s? Especially now? No, I’m not condoning going out and killing Neo-Nazi’s in real life! But a good punch in the face? Sure. Thank you again Activision for providing the codes.

Brand New Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Firefly Box Set Coming Sept 19

The folks at Fox Home video are releasing brand new box sets for Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Firefly. Fans who purchase the Buffy set will receive an official “Buffy” Comic-Book With Exclusive Cover and those who get the new Firefly Blu-ray set will get a “Firefly” Poster and Collectible Cards. Sadly there’s still no Buffy Blu-ray box, which is ridiculous considering an HD version of Buffy has been airing in Syndication for the last few years so we know it exists. I just hope they improve the SD quality because the original set had a horrible, nearly unwatchable transfer.

How On Demand Services Are Changing The Face Of Television

The nature of television has undergone a rapid and dramatic transformation over the last several years. The rise of on demand services like Netflix has changed some of the most fundamental aspects of the television production process, as well as the manner in which television is consumed by viewers. With both Netflix and Amazon now positioning themselves as content producers and outspending the traditional television networks, the range of content available has increased. Both Netflix and Amazon are in a position financially that allows them to take greater risks than traditional television production companies, and this is reflected not only in the nature of their respective offerings but also in the impact their original content is having on the television industry more broadly.

EA has just released a behind the scenes look at their upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II game which features some quick glimpses of Luke’s new powers and yes they’ve already said that the game is fully in cannon! I still don’t like the idea of the story taking place from the Imperials viewpoint, but whatever. The game looks awesome.
