Supergirl Kicks off its 3rd Season! Michelle’s Episode 1 Review/Recap (SPOILERS!)

The CW Network kicks of its new season of TV this week with the return of Supergirl. While I loved season one and two of Supergirl, I have to admit I always end up bailing at around episode 10 or 11. The CW’s awful scheduling just breaks the show and honestly, I think it’d work a lot better as a 13 or 16 episode show then a full 22 eps. I say this up front so you all know I don’t know how last season ended. The episode was fairly “dark” and “depressing,” which are two words I never want to associate with Supergirl. I felt like I was watching an episode of ArrowSupergirl returns Monday, October 9, 2017.

Do not read this if you don’t want to be spoiled. Recap starts in the next paragraph.

iHeart Radio JingleBall 2017 Tour Announced

Yes, I’m a JingleBaller! It’s my favorite tour of the year. What’s not to like? You get a chance to see all the hot touring acts in one night for less than $250.  Usually I have no idea who most of these folks are, but I get crash course in pop music.  The show flows well and usually there are only a couple of acts that I end up not liking. The lineup hasn’t been announced, but I’m always up for more Demi, Miley and DNCE. The Capitol One Presale is Oct 11 and artist line up announced Oct 10.

Fox’s The Gifted – It’s Serviceable. Michelle’s Review

As a lifetime fan of comic-books even I’m starting to get burned out by the genre. Fox Tv’s Gifted, is TV’s latest attempt at bringing Superheroics to our small screen. Fox only provided the pilot episode to review which means take this review with a grain of salt as we all know pilots generally suck.  Yes, I love The X-Men and it’s nice to see Marvel finally bring proper mutants to the TV Landscape, but so far the efforts have felt low budget and pretty depressing. We are in for a rough ride when their supernatural comedy Ghosted had better visual flair and sfx than this. The Gifted premieres, Monday, Oct 2nd on Fox.

Blade Runner 2049 – An Uninspired Clone. Michelle’s (SPOILER Free) Review!

RYAN GOSLING as K in Alcon Entertainment’s action thriller “BLADE RUNNER 2049,” a Warner Bros. Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment release, domestic distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures and international distribution by Sony Pictures.

Hello, my name is Michelle Alexandria, I hate Blade Runner. I know I’m alone on my island, it’s peaceful here. Despite numerous attempts, I’ve never been able to make it past the first 40 minutes so I promised myself to watch it fully before seeing Blade Runner 2049. I wanted to fully understand it’s tedious “plot” before going into the sequel. Turns out I really didn’t need to subject myself to that because this movie is everything that’s wrong with sequels – it is almost an exact clone of the first movie. From the look to the plot, the movie is both hamstrung and “covered” by its adherence to its past. If you liked or loved the first one, then you will feel exactly the same about this one.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle Review (SPOILER FREE!)

The Kingsman: Golden Circle was one of the best times I had at movies all year long. The movie is over the top, frenetic, and at times funny as hell. If you asked me, and the studio did, I would have said it’s one of my favorite films of 2017. Damn being a critic, I had to think about it for a few days before writing my review and the issues that I had with the movie kind of sucks away some of my, from the gut, enjoyment of it. Long story short, go see it and enjoy it for what it is – a fun, bombastic take on the spy movie genre. If you want to nitpick it to death, read on.

Top 4 Indie Films of the Moment!

Many movie buffs overlook indie films because directors often have a small budget to work with. However, more often than not, such movies can compete with the bigger blockbusters because indie movie directors need to come up with better stories on a limited budget. Thankfully, that means us indie fanatics have various movies to keep us entertained. Unfortunately, though, some indie films don’t have the budgets for advertising/marketing purposes either, so it’s up to us to ensure these films are exposed. Here are some of the top indie movies you need to watch this year.
