Violet (EMILY BLUNT) and Tom (JASON SEGEL) keep getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle in "The Five-Year Engagement", the new irreverent comedy that reteams the director and writer/star of "Forgetting Sarah Marshall".

Tom Solomon and Violet Barnes may be perfect for each other. They get each other so well that he knows the perfect engagement ring for her [not the expected big honkin’ diamond…] and she understands his sense of humor. Unfortunately, once they get engaged – and despite their best, most enthusiastic efforts, nothing seems to go right.

Stan Lee on Epix

The Epix channel is turning into quite a cool little entertainment platform. This weekend, April 27 – 29, you can watch Thor and Captain America for free – as long as you sign up for a 14-day trial and catch the world premiere of a brand new documentary “The Stan Lee Story” about Stan “The Man” Lee (creator of the majority of Marvel’s characters) – who did give me permission to still his famous Excelsior! The documentary premiered April 27th, but I’m sure you can catch a replay. You can get Epix on your local cable systems, on the web and they have an app available for Xbox 360 (not sure about PS3.)  Hurry and register to catch your free viewing of Captain America and Thor. It still amazes me that one man created all of these amazing characters. Here is a taste of the great one’s new documentary.

Crow's Nest

Pirates! Band of Misfits is the best stop-motion, non-Wallace and Gromit film yet from Aardman Animation. It may also be the most complex stop-motion animated film ever. And yes, it’s funny. Very, very funny.

Safe

Safe is an unusual action film – at least for Jason Statham. It’s a combination of disparate elements that work together in unexpected ways to create a wildly entertaining experience.

The newest trailer for Pixar’s Brave is the most intriguing and entertaining so far. It also signals Pixar’s recovery from the lame, action movie heroics of Cars 2 to a solid, character-driven adventure. Plus Gaelic folk music! I am so there!

The original GI Joe movie, GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra was so awful – even the trailers were abysmal – that it made my Bottom Feeders list for 2009. GI Joe: Retaliation, however, has gone from terrific trailer to terrific trailer. The addition of Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis to the cast seems to have energized a potential franchise that really needed something more. Check out the spiffy new trailer, above, and cross your fingers – this might just be fun!
