Even after reading your review, I'm still excited to see Hancock. I loved Will Smith in 'I Am Legend' though I hated the Hollywood ending. As for Arrested Development, I watch it because it's 'David Lynch light'.

Jason Bateman is the highlight of this movie - jimorris is right on with his assesment of it as a split personality movie. The first half of the movie has a a funny tone, but the tone changes entirely with a surprise revelation halfway through. It might be worth a matinee, but it wouldn't lose anything from waiting until it comes out on DVD.

"Hancock" is a movie with a split personality. The first half is about a drunken superhero who likes to fight crime while destroying things; then it veers off in another direction. Lots of violence, destruction, and and special effects.
